 Regarding Safety

“And anyone who welcomes a little child like this on My behalf is welcoming Me. But if you cause one of these little ones who trusts in Me to fall into sin, it would be better for you to have a large millstone tied around your neck and be drowned in the depths of the sea.” Matthew 18:5-6

Woah, that’s an intense verse! But these red letter words express how serious Jesus was about the safety and protection of children. We have shared much regarding our commitment as a body of believers to provide a loving environment for the next generation to learn about Jesus. However, our obligation is not merely to your child’s spiritual development; We also have a moral and legal mandate to protect your child’s physical and mental well-being. This is a job we take very seriously.

Here are some of the safety measures we have built in to our children’s ministry:

  • Secure Check-In: When you check-in, you'll receive matching identification stickers. Your child will wear a name tag, and you'll keep the matching tag, ensuring only you can pick them up.

  • Safe Pick-Up: To pick up your child after the service, simply show your matching tag to the iheartkidz leader.

  • Trained Leaders: Every iheartkidz volunteer completes a background check and is trained by our staff to provide safe, high-quality care.

  • Monitored Hallways: Background-checked security personnel monitor the hallways during every service.

  • Parent Alerts: If we need to contact you, we’ll send a text or call you.

Regarding Health

What if my child is sick?   While we want every child to be able to experience iheartkidz on Sundays, we also recognize the need to limit exposure to contagious germs that make other kids get sick. This is why, in certain instances, we may regrettably, but only temporarily, ask that your child not attend class in order to prevent the unnecessary spread of communicable illnesses.

The Committee on Control of Infectious Disease of the American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that a child should not leave home when any of the following symptoms exist:

  • Fever (over 100.4 degrees)

  • Vomiting or diarrhea within the last 24 hours

  • Any symptom of childhood diseases such as scarlet fever, German measles, mumps, chicken pox, or whooping cough

  • Common cold

  • Sore throat

  • Croup

  • Any unexplained rash

  • Any skin infection – boils, ringworm, or impetigo

  • Untreated pink eye or other eye infection

  • Lice, including the presence of eggs or nits
